2012 CREW Denver Career Outreach

UCREW Events Reach Out to Local University Students   

In February, students in real estate programs at Denver University and the University of Colorado enjoyed presentations provided by CREW Denver Leaders explaining different job positions in the commercial real estate industry. Both women and men students attended the events.

The speakers (all women), emphasized the importance of doing a job you enjoy, not being afraid to take risks, and networking with other professionals in real estate. Student Erica Mark at the University of Colorado summed up the presentations by commenting, "I really appreciate all of the speakers' willingness to help students individually through shadowing, giving advice, being readily available for contact, etc. It helps immensely when students can speak with someone who is in a job position that the student is striving for. I enjoyed the discussion on how it is not necessary to "toughen up" or get thick skin in order to be a female in the industry." Mary Defanti, Ambassador of the Real Estate Club at DU said: "The most impressive informative session I have been to at the University of Denver. It was very motivating."
