Committee Overview:
The Programs Committee develops and coordinates CREW's monthly luncheon programs, the core activity of CREW Denver. Duties include determining topics for the 10 monthly luncheon/breakfast events including the annual Property Tour and the Holiday Party. The Programs Committee not only determines the topics, but coordinates the speakers and format for each event.
Committee Member Duties:
Committee members are responsible for helping to generate new, fresh program ideas and topics which are relevant to the commercial real estate professionals in our organization, including professional development opportunities. Committee members reach out to help schedule guest speakers and provide guidance related to the program topic. The Programs Committee also works with each of the other CREW Committees to coordinate Program announcements, promote program interest, recruit sponsors (when applicable), and drive membership and increase CREW participation.
Estimated Time Commitment:
Committee meets once a month for 60 minutes. Additional time commitment is needed to coordinate topics and speakers as events are held on a monthly basis.
Timing of Program Events:
The monthly programs are held generally on the third Tuesday of the Month during lunch (11:15-1:00pm). The annual Property Tour is typically held in August, and the Holiday Party is held as a breakfast program during December. The two months that CREW Programs does not provide a program include June, which is the CREW Golf Tournament and October, which is the annual CREW Women of Influence Award Event (both hosted by other committees).
Benefits of Serving on Committee:
Benefits to volunteering on the Programs Committee include interfacing and networking with some of our industry’s most successful leaders and visionaries. Committee members brainstorm current, timely topics and because of that, are in front of developers/project planners/economic development heads/ members of public private partnerships, etc., to coordinate our programs. Committee members interface with other CREW Committees and have access to the membership base as they look internally for CREW members to feature for upcoming topics.
Meeting Time/Location:
Committee meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month from 8:00am – 9:00am. January, June and September meetings are held at the office of Otten Johnson (950 Seventeenth Street, Suite 1600, Denver, Colorado, 80202) in person. The remaining monthly meetings are held via conference call.
